Status: Seasonal, part-time; Non-exempt

Position Summary

The Indianapolis Indians seek outgoing and passionate candidates to build enthusiasm and excitement for the Indianapolis Indians. Rowdie Crew members serve as brand ambassadors for the Indians at Victory Field home games and a variety of public events in the Indianapolis area. Their mission is to execute all in-park entertainment and promotions and interact with potential and existing fans, providing information and collateral. 

 

Major Responsibilities

  • Represent the Indianapolis Indians and its sponsor brands in a positive and professional manner
  • Assist with setup of game day operations, including promotional giveaways, rolling t-shirts and moving props
  • Welcome fans at stadium gates, assist with gate pass-outs, and help set the tone for a fun and memorable game-day experience
  • Execute in-game promotions/sponsor elements and sign-up contestants for all in-park promotions
  • Distribute promotional materials at appearances and be able to answer questions about any team-related topics
  • Assist with Knot Hot Kids Club post-game run and manage the activation table during Sunday games
  • Facilitate activation at events while providing superb customer service and displaying excitement about the organization
  • Aid in setting up and breakdown of interactive tent, inflatables and event display at community events
  • Escort the Indianapolis Indians mascot, Rowdie, during games and at outside appearances


Other Duties

  • Contribute to locating events and opportunities for Rowdie Crew and mascot activities
  • Assist marketing department with in-game situations, inventory. etc.
  • Opportunity to work as a Kid Zone Game Operator during homestands, when not on Promotional Staff 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Highly motivated, energetic individual with excellent problem-solving and communication skills to interact with fans
  • Excellent customer service, people and relationship skills
  • Experience with event production, promotions or game presentation is a plus
  • Ability to stand and walk up/down stairs for 4+ hours
  • Ability to follow directions and work independently in a team environment
  • Moving and lifting objects that exceed 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in diverse weather conditions, including cold, wind, rain and heat
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must have transportation to and from events

 

Compensation

$50.00 per game; estimated 4-5 hours per shift
